Our Two Families

Brady Family Ham is the story of two families with a passion for crafting Real Irish Ham. It all began in 1978 when Mary & Ozzie Brady decided to cook and sell quality hams, produced from their own kitchen in Co. Kildare. They cured and cooked these hams using a traditional family recipe – the same recipe we use today.

Staying True To Tradition

In 2000, the O’Brien Family purchased Brady Family Ham intending to take the business to new heights without altering the craft and traditional methods used to make the ham. That is exactly what they did…

Brady Family Ham then became the first ham to receive Bord Bia Quality Assurance and went on to win countless awards for its taste and flavour in the years to follow.

Supporting Our Communities

Brady Family has been the proud sponsor of Kildare GAA, LGFA and Camogie since 2012. We are also a proud charity partner of Barretstown and sponsor their annual Big Picnic event every summer. As part of our mission to be more sustainable and eco conscious, Brady Family partners with Food Cloud to combat food waste in an effective way. We’ve donated over 140,000 meals to families across Ireland through our FoodCloud partnership.

B Corp

As a B Corp, we have joined a community of thousands of companies that value doing business better. The movement is growing in Ireland. O’Brien Fine Foods, the owners of Brady Family, is the 16th Irish business to have achieved B Corp status and many more are set to join our ranks.

B Corp calls for a truly integrated way of thinking, where sustainability strategy is fully embedded into business strategy. Over an eighteen-month period, teams across our business have contributed to an intense accreditation process. Companies that want to become a B Corp must achieve a B impact assessment score of 80 or more.
This score focuses on the five key areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers, scrutinising the efforts and goals of the company in each area.
